Ben Fairchild, CPA

Ben Fairchild, CPA

Benjamin M. Fairchild graduated Summa Cum Laude from Florida Southern College (FSC) with a Bachelors of Science degree in accounting in 2001. He immediately enrolled in graduate course work at FSC. He completed his Masters of Business Administration (MBA) in 2003 and was awarded Most Outstanding MBA student. Upon MBA graduation, Ben began preparation to sit for the Uniform Certified Public Accountant (CPA) exam. Ben passed all four parts of the exam on the first attempt. He was recognized by the state of Florida for achieving the fifth highest score in the state on the November 2003 exam. Ben began working with Charles H. Brinton, Sr. in 2000 as an intern while attending FSC.

Ben joined Downtown Lakeland Kiwanis in August 2007. He has worked on various service projects and is currently working is way through the leadership ranks after serving as club treasurer for several years. He has also served as the Assistant Treasurer at All Saints Episcopal Church and completed the officer ranks of the Polk County Chapter of the Florida Institute of Certified Professional Accountants (FICPA). He is an avid sports fan and enjoys following baseball, basketball and football.

Ben married his high school sweetheart, Everis (Kline) Fairchild in May 2002. They welcomed their first child, Ryan in July 2008. The Fairchilds were blessed again in June 2010 when Lindsey was born. The Fairchild family worships at All Saints Episcopal Church.

Chuck Brinton, CPA

Chuck Brinton, CPA

Charles H. Brinton, Jr. (Chuck) graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics in December 2002. While at UF he was a member of Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity and worked for the University Athletic Association. In January 2003 Chuck began working part time at Brinton & Associates, P.A. while attending the University of South Florida to complete the additional education required to sit for the certified public accountant exam. Chuck became certified in November 2004 and began working full time in January 2005.

Chuck is the past Chair of the Polk County Chapter of the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants (FICPA) and is a member of the Lakeland South Rotary Club. In his spare time Chuck enjoys playing golf, barbequing, and watching Gator football.

Chuck was born and raised in Lakeland. He first met his wife, Mindy, in middle school and the two began dating while in college (she was at Florida State). They were married in October of 2005. Their daughter, Avery, was born in May 2008, and son Carter was born in February 2011. 

Mia West

A. Mia West graduated Magna Cum Laude from Florida Southern College (FSC) in 1998 with a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration. During her years at FSC, she was active in leadership positions on campus, including her sorority, Zeta Tau Alpha. She married Don West, a local music educator, shortly after graduation and worked as a staffing coordinator for a local staffing company until their first child, Evan, was born in 2000. For the next several years, she remained home with Evan and his sisters, Emma and Abby. In 2010 she began working part time as office manager for a local retail sheet music company. She has been a part of the Brinton Fairchild team since 2012 and thoroughly enjoys getting to know our clients.

Mia volunteers at her children’s schools, including serving as the Co-Treasurer of the Harrison Center for the Arts Parents Association and on the finance committee of the Lakeland High School Dreadnaught Band Boosters. She is proud to be a big sister through the non-profit organization Big Brothers Big Sisters of America.  Mia is very involved in her church, First United Methodist Church of Lakeland. She was a part of the 2019 Lay Leadership Cadre, teaches 4th grade Sunday School, is a small group leader for Confirmation, and serves on the Scholarship Committee. She loves reading, puzzles, cooking, and board or card games. She is thankful for time to spend with family and friends and enjoys attending music concerts, especially classical and jazz.

Abby Rowzee

Abby Rowzee, a Kansas raised gal, attended Johnson Community in 2007 and Wichita State University’s theatre program. In 2009 she moved to New Orleans to pursue a career in film, finding success as a stand-in for Isla Fisher and Jessica Chastain. She was cast in a principal role on Hide, a TNT television film. While working in the industry, she learned the value of patience, promptness, striving to do your best, and not to be intimidated when talking to Morgan Freeman and Michael Caine.

In 2012 Abby moved to New York City and found employment with a firm specializing in bookkeeping. After six months of on the job training, she became the internal bookkeeper and worked at the firm for the next four years, enjoying every minute. To stay connected with her film and theatre roots, she also ushered on Broadway in the evenings.
She moved to Lakeland in October 2018 to be closer to her retired mother. She is enjoying the warm winters and spending quality time with her mom, step-dad, aunts, and uncles. Abby became employed at Brinton Fairchild in December 2018 where she is continuing to learn about the accounting world.

When Abby isn’t working, she loves playing pickleball, reading, going to the theatre, watching movies, and listening to oldies. She is grateful for the opportunities she has been given throughout her life and strives to continue learning and growing.

 Stephanie Franco

Stephanie H. Franco graduated from Liberty University with a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting in 2016. Stephanie aspires to one day become a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). She is currently studying for the Enrolled Agent (EA) exam. After passing the EA Exam, she intends to return to Liberty University where she will obtain her Master’s in Taxation and then study to sit for the CPA exam. Working in various roles in the past she has always loved math, tax preparation and helping people.

Originally from southern Virginia, Stephanie and her family transferred to Lakeland in late 2015. Her first child, Blake, was born in March 2009 and she welcomed her daughter, Aliyana (“Ollie”), a short 18 months later in September 2010. It was then that Stephanie and her husband decided it would be best for the family for her to only work part time so she could care for the children and return to college to pursue her dreams to become an accountant. Raising a newborn and a toddler while working nights and weekends she found time to study and attend college full time. She joined the Brinton Fairchild team in August 2019.

When Stephanie is not in the office, she loves to spend quality time with her children as much as she loves a great New York Yankees game at the George M. Steinbrenner Field in Tampa. She enjoys reading, puzzles, travel, baking and working out. She is very excited to see what the future has in store for her and her family.

April Johnson

April S Johnson graduated from Liberty University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business and The Bible.  In 2002 she married Scott Johnson, who retired from the US Army in 2018 after serving 23 years on active duty.  Prior to starting a family, April worked in the banking industry in various roles from teller to managing mortgages and loans.

April and her husband Scott have four children: Abigail, Elly, and twins Susy and Zach.  Being a military family, April stayed home raising their children for 20 years.  She joined Brinton Fairchild in 2022 and enjoys working with our team.

April loves spending time with her family, swimming, crafting, and attending concerts.  She and her family moved to Fish Hawk in 2021 from South Carolina where she lived for 28 years.  They moved to the area for her husband’s job relocation and have thoroughly enjoyed living in Florida and all the area has to offer.

Ellie Borah

Ellie Borah was born in Tennessee, lived in South Dakota for five years, and moved with her family to Lakeland when she was twelve. She is the oldest of four siblings and was homeschooled until college. She started out studying music at Polk State College and added accounting halfway through her college career. She graduated from Florida Southern College in 2022 with degrees in both majors. During school she worked at a local restaurant and eventually became a shift manager. She interned in the accounting field as a senior in college and was hired by the company to work full time upon graduation.

She is the newest member of the Brinton Fairchild team, starting in February 2023, right in the middle of tax season! She discovered that she actually enjoys taxes! When she isn’t working, Ellie explores her other talents and interests by singing in her church choir and with Toast of Tampa Show Chorus, taking ballet classes at Southern Grace Dance Company, the occasional foray into theatre, and sewing and crocheting like the old soul she is.

Jennifer Miranda

Jennifer Miranda is a Floridian at heart and has lived in Florida since she was two weeks young. After graduating high school, she was afforded a glimpse into the accounting world by working part time for her parents’ employers. Within three short years in her first full time job in Tampa, she worked her way from Receptionist to Sales Assistant to Accounts Payable & Payroll. She then moved to South Florida and continued to advance her career in the corporate world and accounting management. After eight years of living in South Florida she was thrilled to have an opportunity to move back to Central Florida! Fortunately, she was able to remain with the same employer, transferring from the corporate office to the Orlando branch as the Office Manager & Bookkeeper. After two years of commuting from Lakeland to Orlando, she decided to leave her employer of 10 years to find a position in Lakeland. She worked as an Accounting Assistant for nine years in Lakeland.

After the birth of her second child, she decided to become a stay-at-home mom to enjoy the time with her young children and volunteer at their schools. She remains very active in her children’s schools and volunteers as much as possible. She has been humbled and honored by being named Volunteer of the Year twice in the past six years.

Jennifer is married with two children and enjoys spending time with her immediate and extended family as often as possible. She enjoys baking, crafting, scrapbooking, and going to the beach. She has always dreamed about working for an accounting firm, so she is very excited to be a part of the Brinton Fairchild team and continue to nurture her love of the accounting world!

Everis Fairchild 

Everis Fairchild graduated Magna Cum Laude from Florida Southern College (FSC) with a Bachelors of Music degree with a double major in Flute Performance and Music Management in 2001. During her years at FSC, she was active in several groups on campus, including Omicron Delta Kappa National Leadership Honor Society; Sigma Beta Delta, the international honor society for business, management and administration; the Southern Ambassadors; and several performing ensembles. She also held leadership positions in her sorority, Zeta Tau Alpha, and Delta Omicron International Music Fraternity. Everis was selected as FSC’s Freshman of the Year in 1998. Upon graduation, she immediately enrolled in FSC’s graduate program, completing her Masters of Business Administration (MBA) in 2003. While pursuing her MBA, she worked as Administrative Assistant to Robert MacDonald in the Festival of Fine Arts.

In 2003, Everis began working as the Accounting Director at All Saints’ Episcopal Church, serving also as Interim Communications Director. She then became the Church Administrator in 2004. She also coordinated the All Saints’ Summer Music Program for several years. After the birth of her second child in 2010, Everis decided to stay home to take care of the kids, and later joined Brinton Fairchild as a part time bookkeeper. She enjoys volunteering her time at her kids’ school, her son’s Boy Scouts troop, where she serves as Committee Chair, and All Saints’ Episcopal Church, where she serves as a lector and Verger, and still sometimes gets to play her flute at services. She has also twice served on the church Vestry, including a term as Junior Warden and three terms as Senior Warden.

Everis was born and raised in Lakeland, and married her high school sweetheart, Ben Fairchild in May 2002. They welcomed their son, Ryan, in July 2008, and their daughter, Lindsey, in 2010.
